About the organisation

The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky was founded as a pedagogical institute in 1817. It was one of the first pedagogical educational institutions in the south of Ukraine. Today, the university remains the leader of pedagogical education in the southern region of Ukraine, providing high-quality training of teaching staff and contributing to the development of research activities in many fields of science and technology.

Ushynsky University successfully prepares students, post-graduate students and doctoral students in 47 specialities and specializations.

The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University, named after K.D. Ushynsky, is the only institution of higher education in the Southern region of Ukraine, where technical vocational education and training teachers’ preparation is carried out.

Role and function in the project

The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky relatively recently introduced the study programs in VTE that is way Ushynsky University commits actively to perform the tasks and contribute to the achievement of the objectives in order to make the study program more attractive for students and more relevant to the needs of their future employers (vocational schools). The university will benefit from the extensive experience and support of the participating EU partners who will provide different perspectives, which may be combined with the Ukrainian expertise and lead to a Ukrainian way of teacher education in the field of vocational education.

Therefore, Ushynsky University will:

  • organize a workshop for the consortium and a round table
  • host trainings organized within the project
  • give lecturers and staff the opportunity to participate in the planned activities
  • develop and implement mechanisms of PBG for the university
  • participate in the content development of amendments to educational standards of VTE
  • promote the project according to its possibilities.
